1969年1月の「Get Back」辺りからメンバーの不和が目立ち始め、それぞれのソロ活動も活発に行われるようになりました。
このアルバムが制作されたのは1969年7月の一ヶ月間で、8月に入るとすぐポール・マッカートニーとジョージ・マーティン（共同作業者・音楽プロデューサー）で編集に当っています。
