昨年の4月8日にも取り上げましたが、再び聴きます
Bergは大好きな作曲家で、若いときに、この名前でレコード小売店を作ったことが有ります（内緒で）
彼が1907~8年にかけてSonata for Piano Op.1を作曲したとき、彼はArnold Schönbergの弟子で、この作品は師の勧めによって3楽章を想定して書き始めたものですが、1楽章のみで終わっています。
1楽章を書き終えた後、『中々適当なものが思い浮かばない』と言う彼に、師は『では、あなたは言われるべきであったことはすべて言ってしまったのでしょう』と応えたそうです。
想定された形式、語法で空虚な作品を作るより、黙っていることで真実を語った方が良い、という師の教えはとても貴重だと思います。
